Internships begin at the end of May 2013 and last for 8 to 10 weeks. The internship work week is 40 hours. Representatives from the different functional areas within the Renewable Steam Plant’s group meet with new interns in a series of orientation meetings to introduce themselves and to discuss the work of their programs. In this way, interns develop a comprehensive understanding of the business and how it functions.

The duties of this internship require careful attention to detail and strong customer service skills. The primary role of the intern is to assist in the preparation and integration of Work Instructions for each department in order to maintain and improve upon productivity, quality and safety. A Work Instruction is a detailed sequence of steps that an employee needs to follow each time s/he performs a task. The purpose of a Work Instruction is to organize steps in a logical format so that an employee can easily follow it independently. Work instructions must be credible, clear, accessible and consistent. In addition to these tasks, interns may be called upon to assist with other duties as assigned.

This customer has a well established history in the power generation industry and the position is based in Windsor, CT. They are looking for additional support at this time working with their Business Operations group – but within the Engineering industry.
