Window to the World Communications, Inc. (hereafter known as WTTW) is Chicago's premiere public television and community outreach apparatus.

Specifically, this internship consists of two community outreach events known as the Great Food Fan Van and Readers Are Leaders tours. The first focuses on healthy living via balanced nutrition and robust exercise while the second espouses the art of reading and storytelling in its many forms. This internship will include a wide range of administrative, promotional, and community outreach duties for the Program Marketing and Sales Departments. The intern will gain experience in the areas of community outreach, research and data collection, organization and promotion of community events and client relations. Window To The World Communications 5 Part-time, Unpaid (College Credit Required) Responsibilities

Great Food Fan Van (average 2-3 days per week)

• Reproduction and mailing of GFFV promotional flyers and posters.

-Copying and mailing promotional flyers & posters to community partners 3

weeks prior to event dates.

• Organization of promotional and educational materials for events.

-Assembling promotional materials and hand-outs in advance of events.

• Assistance with planning and on-site execution of event.

-On-site scene set-up and strike.

-Audio Engineering.

-Assistance with distribution of promotional materials, sponsor samples and

continual interaction with community.

• Social media postings during and post events

-via Twitter, Facebook and several family websites.

Readers Are Leaders (average 1-2 days per week)

• Reproduction and distribution of promotions for the Readers Are Leaders tour.

-Copy and mail promotional flyers and posters to participating libraries, schools,

daycares, and early childhood institutions at least 3 weeks prior to show dates.

• Organization of promotional materials for Readers Are Leaders tour.

-Stuff bags with promotional materials and free children’s books.

• Assistance with planning and on-site execution of event.

-On-site stage set up and strike.

-Audio Engineering.

-Distribution of partner materials and free books.

• Social media postings during and post events

-via Twitter, Facebook and several family websites.

General

• Research perspective promotion recipients.

-Compile a contact list of local school, daycares, and early childhood institutions near show locations.

• Data compilation for reports.

-Organizing collected data from each event into an excel spreadsheet.

• On-site performing and interaction with community.
