As an Operations and Finance intern, you will assist the company's Operations and Finance Manager to complete a variety of projects related to the inner workings, business development, and growth of Surface.

Surface Magazine 2 Full-time, Unpaid (College Credit Required) Responsibilities

Potential assignments could include:

– Analyzing circulation/distribution data to develop marketing budgets

– Processing and fulfilling orders, updating subscriber lists, and responding to inquiries

– Managing HR documentation and delivering training sessions on new softwares/platforms

– Chasing outstanding invoices

– Under direct supervision, helping to update QuickBooks

– Work with editorial and design teams to track print deadlines

– Uncover operational inefficiencies and develop solutions to streamline processes

About the Internship

Surface and sister publication, Watch Journal, a luxury lifestyle watch enthusiast publication, are seeking Editorial interns this Fall. We're looking for students with strong editorial and writing skills; an interest in art, design, or architecture is also a plus. English, journalism, and art history majors are the best fit.

Our interns get great hands-on experience and often receive bylines in the magazine. It's a fantastic chance for students interested in an editorial career to get clips and to see what goes on behind the scenes at a magazine.

Surface is seeking a Fashion intern this Fall. We are looking for students who are organized with a strong interest in fashion.

Responsibilities

Run-through Setup / Packing / Picking up

Organizing the closet in a neat manner for the stylist to make edits.

Packing up the samples for photo shoots

Closet Upkeep

Organizing the fashion closet with respect to working with high-end product

Assisting the team with daily tasks such as expenses, mood boards, and photo archiving

About the Internship

Surface and sister publication, Watch Journal, a luxury lifestyle watch enthusiast publication, are seeking Design interns this Fall. As an intern at Surface, you are expected to have a good understanding of the Adobe Creative Suit and layout experience in InDesign, most specifically. Basic web coding skills put you at an advantage. Experience with Adobe Digital Publishing Suite is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assisting the company’s Art Director in the creation, conception, and implementation of all design projects, including Surface, Watch Journal, promotional materials, and event collateral.

Booking photographers

Work on the layout of the magazine in its print and digital forms

Put together all photoshoots for the publication with our editorial team and directors
