Here at Green Lifestyles, a 501(c) 3 non-profit, we inform, inspire, involve and invest people in sustainable living. We provide information, advocacy and opportunities for the average person, business, corporation and NGO to become part of greener solutions using our most powerful tool…the media. As a grass roots organization, Green Lifestyles depends on volunteers to advance the movement. We are launching a multimedia website and need web developers and designers with the following skills:

— Solid knowledge of Joomla web development, including the completion of at least one website developed in Joomla

— Experience installing and configuring Joomla extensions as well as customizing Joomla templates

— Strong skills in HTML and CSS

— Basic experience working with images, video, blogs, and SEO

— Solid organizational and communication skills

Experience in any of the following is also desirable:

— MySQL, JavaScript, PHP, XML, jQuery, or AJAX

— the JomSocial Joomla extenstion

— ecommerce/shopping cart systems

— other content management systems

— web design

— user experience

— information architecture

Green Lifestyles 4 Part-time, Unpaid Responsibilities

Working virtually from home you will work with a team of people to develop a multi-media website that incorporates video, Internet TV, eCommerce, mobile, and pay-per-view. You will be tasked with using your skills in technology to develop a socially responsible website the basis of which will be driven by social media. You will need to know how to manipulate a template to provide additional functionality and work with web designers to improve the experience of the viewer.
