Kids Science Labs Description

Kids Science Labs (“KSL”) is a private equity backed new venture that is building 250 learning centers around the country focused on hands-on science, problem solving, and creative design for kids 2-12. The founders proposed that since all kids are little innovators who enjoy learning through experience, instead of explanation, that the U.S. is in need of a radically different approach to deliver hands-on science education.

KSL was founded in 2009 with its corporate headquarters in Chicago. The founders have secured significant angel and institutional capital to launch a unique venture in the for-profit education space.

When is our launch?
The first KSL is launching in July 2011 in Lincoln Park Chicago, with over 15 learning centers planned for launch in the next few years and 250 within the next decade.

Who is the team by KSL?
KSL is founded by two friends, engineers, and graduates of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. What are we looking for?
1-2 talented students with a passion for innovation/entrepreneurship, sustainable enterprise, marketing strategy, and/or corporate finance to intern with KSL from May – August 2011. Interns must have excellent communication skills and be committed to gaining a tremendous skillset. Work projects may include marketing strategy, operations, managing internal finances, data analysis, and various day-to-day projects as needed by the founders. Strong preference is given to students who share the Founder’s passion for establishing a successful high growth start-up as well as those with an interest in science.
