Ironbound Television and Film Studios Description
Newark’s newest rising star is looking for interns. IRONBOUND TELEVISION & FILM STUDIOS (IFTS) is a beautiful new 37,000 square foot facility in a historic 100 year-old building currently being renovated. Once completed (2011), IFTS will feature fully networked stages, production areas, kitchens, set construction areas, production rooms, offices, and parking based in the Ironbound neighborhood of Newark, New Jersey. The facility’s location in Newark, about 7 miles from downtown Manhattan (a straight drive on route 78 out of the Holland Tunnel), offers the distinct price advantages to Manhattan of an up and coming neighborhood. While still completing renovation and construction, the studio is already hopping. Current TV productions are here with “Bar Karma” produced by World Wide Biggies and former President of Nickelodeon and founder of Spike TV Albie Hecht. Mayor Cory Booker has visited the studios and declared that he want to be the studio’s “number one salesman”.
