Infobase Learning is an educational solutions company serving the school and library community with over 15,000 print, film, and digital products. Under such well-known brands as Facts On File, The World Almanac, and Films for the Humanities & Sciences, Infobase Learning provides students, educators, and librarians with a broad range of award-winning products that both enhance and enrich the learning experience. We are currently looking for a web development intern to assist with the creation and enhancement of our online and digital media products.

Infobase Learning 2 Full-time, Unpaid (College Credit Required) Responsibilities

Responsibilities include web development and maintenance for our online educational database products, content management system, streaming video platforms, eBook platform, e-commerce websites, and other web-based applications. The development intern will work on a variety of different projects and should be able to provide new ideas that work within our current systems. The ideal candidate is flexible, patient, forward thinking, innovative, and results oriented, with a high attention to detail. The intern must be able to work well in a team environment and be able to communicate well with non-technical people inside and outside of Infobase Learning.

Infobase Learning 2 Full-time, Unpaid (College Credit Required) Requirements

– At least one year completed coursework toward a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar degree.
– Demonstrated experience with ASP.NET (VB.NET and C#), Visual Basic, HTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP (VBScript), and SQL Server 2000/2008 (stored procedures, triggers, DTS packages)
– Demonstrated understanding of the software development lifecycle
– Demonstrated ability to learn new products and technologies
– Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills

In addition, familiarity with open source Content Management Systems, Flash technologies, and/or mobile technologies is a strong plus.
