Job Description:

Under the direction of the Manager of Telecommunications and Conferencing, the AV Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and management of the firm's AV equipment. This includes all Audio/ Video production equipment such as: codecs, cameras, monitors, mixers, microphones, recording and bridging equipment. The AV Engineer will stay current on industry/market trends and recommend alternatives to infrastructure including replacement of systems and equipment to meet firm requirements. This position will coordinate and provide technical expertise on construction projects involving the installation of fully integrated AV conference rooms and will create and maintain diagrams in standard software packages such as CAD, Visio, etc. This position will interact with technical staff such as electrical contractors, network engineers, cabling contractors, videoconferencing technicians and AV design consultants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Design the architecture of the firm's AV setups, including video codecs, bridges, audio components, and control systems such as Crestron along with all other related equipment servicing the conference rooms in the firm.

Maintain and support the AV environment to keep it up to date and tuned for optimal performance.

Liaise with manufacturers and integrators to install, test and recalibrate new and newly repaired AV equipment.

Setup and diagnose problems with audio and video components.

Oversee the work done by AV vendors on installation and problem resolution.

Work with Conference Services Department to support the AV requirements of the firm.

Provide guidance on best practices, innovative solutions, and process improvements relating to all AV equipment.

Ensure that proper tools are in place and optimized to support the efficient operation of the AV environment.

Consult with and advise the Manager of Telecommunications and Conferencing to determine the firm's technology needs to support the firm's AV environment.

Maintain accurate documentation for all aspects of the AV environment and the supporting systems used for its management.

Performs other work-related duties as assigned
